OUR STORY

Mohammad Kanisavaran nad Golnessa Mottahed founded K.A.G – Kanisavaran Architectural Group in 2013. K.A.G is a Tehran based group of architects, designers, interior and product designers and researchers. Kanisavaran’s architecture emerges out of a careful analysis of how contemporary life constantly evolves and changes. We constantly test new practices of architectural Design in order to provide a contemporary alternative to traditional Iranian architecture. We believe that in order to deal with today’s challenges, architecture can profitably move into a field that has been largely unexplored such as responding to the climate conditions, economic and cultural context of each project. A pragmatic utopian architecture that steers clear of the petrifying pragmatism of boring boxes and the naive utopian ideas of digital formalism. Like a form of programmatic alchemy, we create architecture by mixing conventional ingredients such as living, leisure, working, parking and shopping. By hitting the fertile overlap between pragmatic and utopia, we (architects) once again find the freedom to change the surface of our planet, to better fit contemporary life forms.

OUR DESIGN APPROACH

 Through a thoughtful design process and always in collaboration with our clients, we produce creative solutions that add value while meeting a project’s objectives. Most of our work is with repeat clients because we care about our relationships and respect our clients’ aspirations, budgets, and schedules. When a project commences, we gather information, clarify roles, and develop a responsibility matrix. Milestones for deliverables are established, informing us on how to manage the project’s work flow. Integrating these strategies into the creative process enhances our mission to design richer, more dynamic places in considered, intelligent ways.
